Issues and corrective actions
A problem with an owner, not a note on a whiteboard
Finding a problem is easy. What separates a real system from a digital filing cabinet is what happens in the next ten minutes, and whether anybody can prove it happened at all.
The problem today
Most problems die at handover
-
Reported verbally, lost immediately
A torn door seal mentioned to a manager who was already dealing with something else is a problem that never existed.
-
Nobody owns it
Without a named owner and a date, a known issue drifts between shifts until it becomes a breakdown or an inspection finding.
-
Closed means somebody said so
An action marked resolved on the word of whoever was holding the folder is not evidence that anything was fixed.
What it does
One workflow, from the floor to closed
-
Anyone can raise one
A kitchen porter can report a problem from the tablet in seconds, with a photo, without needing to find a manager first.
-
Four states, one path
Open, in progress, awaiting verification, closed. Every problem runs the same route, so nothing has a special case that avoids scrutiny.
-
Closure needs evidence
Closure conditions are evaluated server-side. The close button stays disabled, with the unmet reason shown, until they are genuinely met.
-
The timeline is kept
Who raised it, who owned it, what was done, what was verified and when. Attached to the equipment and the site, permanently.
In practice
Why a failed reading cannot just be re-taken
The tempting shortcut with any temperature system is to take the reading again in ten minutes and record the better number. Prepd360 is built so that does not work.
- The original out-of-range reading is written and cannot be removed
- It opened a corrective action that exists independently of later readings
- Closing it needs the manager acknowledgement and the repair evidence
- In-range re-checks are part of the closure, not a replacement for it
See how Prepd360 could work in your kitchen
Whether you are running one kitchen or managing several locations, we would be happy to show you how it works and talk through what you actually need.
